Right now there are so many great deals on luscious green plants, deep colored shrubbery, fun bricks, stones, and flowers that are made up of the brightest colors that could brighten anyone's day.
There are a few simple and easy ways to make the most of your front yard to create the most magical yet sophisticated curb appeal that draws everyone's attention when passing by!
The first step is to take a few photos of your home as you stand in the street from different angles that focus on the front of the home, the driveway, the walkway path, and even the mailbox. Once you look at the photos, try to put yourself in the shoes of a prospective buyer. If this was the home you were interested in, what would draw you towards it or away from it without even stepping foot inside? Does it need more flowers? Fewer flowers? Does the mailbox need to be repainted or washed? Are there trees that are inhibiting the view of the front door or porch?
Once you establish these ideas, it is time to make two lists! One as a "wishlist" and the second is a "reality list."
A "wishlist" consists of things that require a little more budgeting and thought, such as removing large trees, resodding the yard, installing a sprinkler system, moving or removing walkways and pathways, and residing/repainting your house.
A "reality list" consists of things that can easily be done such as trimming trees that are hanging, bushes that are overgrown, repainting your mailbox, reseeding the lawn, painting the front door with a fun new pop of color, planting flowers, or creating an inviting path of brick pavers or stepping stones.
Make sure to keep your neighbors' yards in mind. You don't want to be a sore thumb sticking out. You want to make sure it fits in.
